Apple Raspberry Compote

Apple Raspberry Compote is an easy, gluten-free and paleo breakfast, snack or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups apples, peeled if desired, cored and cut into chunks
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 stick cinnamon or 1/2 teaspoon ground
  • ¾ cup raspberries, fresh or frozen

Instructions

  1. Place apples, cinnamon stick and water in a heavy saucepan and stir over medium-high heat until the water is bubbling.
  2. Reduce heat to low and cover. Cook, stirring often until the apples have cooked down but still have some texture, 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Add raspberries and stir.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to sit for 3 minutes.
  5. Serve warm

Notes

The compote will keep for 5 days in the refrigerator. Reheat before serving.
