White Chocolate Matcha Latte

This is a delicious, incredibly anti-inflammatory beverage to have in the morning. 

You may have heard about the beneficial effects of Dave Asprey’s bulletproof coffee. Since I don’t usually drink coffee as it isn’t good for my body I decided to use his principles and make something different that works for me.  I like the idea of getting fats into my body first thing in the morning to get my metabolism going and feed my brain. Having healthy fat first thing in the morning balances my blood sugar and supports my will power. I decided to make it with my favorite morning beverage Matcha Green Tea.

I tried a few different combinations before I came up with the one I really liked.  The combination I came up with tastes rich and creamy. It turns on my brain and provides me with gently energy just like the original Bullteproof coffee promises.

Dave’s recipe includes grass fed butter and MCT oil.  My version is with Cacao Butter and sometimes I put in grass fed butter, (Kerrgold Pure Irish Butter or Organic Valley European Style Cultured butter).  If you don’t do dairy you can just use the cacao butter alone or add in some MCT oil.  I also put in hemp milk to balance the flavor but you can make it without, it will still be creamy.  

Since the cacao butter is solid you can approximate 1 Tb, eyeball it.

There are some optional ingredients you may want to add.  Play around with it for your tastes.  Drinking this each morning will rev up your metabolism creating energy and a sharp, focused mind.

1 large serving
½-1 Tb Matcha Green Tea
1 Tb cacao butter (approximately, cut off a small piece)
1
 Tb organic grass fed butter or MCT oil
12 oz hot water
¼ cup nut milk (I use hemp  milk but almond or hazelnut is also good)
Optional Ingredients
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp organic vanilla
stevia to taste 
  • Heat the water.
  • Place all ingredients  into a blender.  Add whatever optional ingredients you want here.
  • Pour in the hot water, blend until smooth and frothy.
  • Enjoy
