There are  7 Chakras or energy centers in our body which energy flows through.  Each chakra is associated with a different color.  We want our energy to be flowing freely through all the chakras or energy centers.

Different colored food support each of our chakras.

The various color carry different vibrations and we need them all.  We need to be experiencing all the colors.

Eating a rainbow of colored food fills our body with the varieties of nutrients we need to thrive.

Choose brightly colored fruits and vegetables that are colored all the way through, rather than brightly colored only on the skin.  For example a red fruit would be a strawberry not an apple.  The big benefit of deeply colored produce is that the color is a sign of a high concentration of antioxidants.  Free radicals cause our body to break down, but antioxidants nullify those free radicals before they cause any damage.

Eat your colors!

The good news is the deeply colored fruits and vegetables are among the best tasting produce.

Green vegetables fill your body with alkaline minerals which will reduce acids in your system. Greens provide compounds called indoles and isothiocyanates, which may help prevent cancer by boosting the production of enzymes that clear toxins from the body. Chlorophyll is what makes vegetables green. Chlorophyll molecules are similar to human blood molecules. The only difference is that the central atom in blood is iron while the central molecule of plants is magnesium.

There are no foods in their natural state that vibrate to the frequency of a sky blue color.  Dark blue and purple pigments affect the 6th and 7th chakras rather than the throat chakra.   The throat chakra is best supported by drinking lots of water.  Ideally you want to drink half your ideal body weight in ounces of water each day.  Clear fluids work well to enhance clear, truthful communication from this chakra.

Purple – 6th Chakra – Third Eye Chakrablueberries

Blue, purple fruits and vegetables are full of anthocyanins and proanthocyanins, antioxidants associated with keeping the brain and nervous system from stress injury.  Having purple/blue foods will protect you from stress and overwork.  They have the strongest antioxidants preventing free radical damage.   Eating bluish or purple foods will help this center gain clarity and focus.

The crown chakra connects you to your spiritual source.  When your 7th chakra is open you are able to trust your Divine Self.  You feel supported by a force greater than yourself.   The color in this chakra is violet and purple foods can assist.  The vibrations of this chakra are violet in color.  Purple foods can assist, just as with the third eye chakra. The vibrations of this chakra get energized by doing some type of deep breathing which releases toxins from our body and connects us with Spirit.  Meditation is also beneficial.

I  recommend eating 3-5 cups of rainbow colored vegetables each day.
