Top 10 Most Popular Recipes of 2019

By December 27, 2019Uncategorized

As we come to the end of 2019 and the end of the decade, I would love to share one of my greatest insights this year……

Getting into alignment with what we eat.

What do I mean by that?  Ending the battle with our food. It’s about feeling good about what we eat before eating, while eating and after we’re finished.

What we think and feel about our food is just as important as the food we choose. You can be eating a super healthy diet but if you’re feeling stress about it or deprived you’re not in alignment with your True Self.  Feeling peaceful and satisfied with your food choices connects you to your True Self and allows your body to thrive.

3 Step Process to
Get Into Alignment With What You Eat

1. Think About the Pleasure of Your Food Before Eating

Spend at least as much time thinking of the food you’re going to eat as you spend eating your food.  Imagining how delightful the experience is going to be, how satisfied you’ll feel. Think about what you want to eat and imagine it filling your body with nourishment and vitality.

And then think about your intelligent body of trillions of cells each of which knows exactly what to do. Appreciate them for their ability to maintain the health of your body, speak to them lovingly and say to them “I know you know what to do. I love thinking of you as I am choosing the foods I am eating.” This first step will guide you to the foods that you need to feel good physically, emotionally and spiritually.

2. Experience Pleasure, Satisfaction and Joy as You Eat

Notice the taste, texture, smells of what you’re eating. It doesn’t have to be a big deal, just simply enjoy what you’re eating as much as possible. Loving your food reduces stress and puts you into the rest and digest mode. You digest better.

Feel appreciation for the cells of your body.  Appreciate the food that you’re eating and those who prepared it.

3. Be Kind to Yourself No Matter What You Eat

Continue to feel the satisfaction and comfort that food has brought you.

This is where it can get a little tricky…we often beat ourselves up for what eat ate. Don’t do that. Be nice to yourself. This is something that has really made a difference for me. Throughout my life I’ve been afraid of food and felt guilty about what I ate. Now I know I can choose a better feeling thought.

If you’re saying “I shouldn’t have eaten that pizza or cake,” STOP and tell your body “I know that you have the ability to deal with whatever it is I’ve feed you and utilize the energy from it to add to my well-being.”

If you ate a container of ice cream to soothe yourself, honor your choice. Love and accept yourself even if you’re judging yourself. Make peace with where you are.

Say “It’s okay honey however you feel, I love honor and cherish you completely.”

Being kind to yourself is the best thing you can do. Remember… you get to choose how you feel as much as choosing what you eat.

I hope this 3 step process guides you to more harmony in 2020.
