EFT Tapping for Stress Relief

Happy Spring!  In addition to celebrating the end of winter I am pleased to announce after a year of study and mentoring I joyfully received my EFT Certification from EFT Universe this week. Many thanks to Dawson Church for being my fabulous mentor.

I have been tapping for over 4 years. I started using it to help me deal with a huge change (trauma) that occurred in my life when I lost my business, got divorced and had to sell my house.  I needed a tool to help me get though that difficult time.  I am so grateful for EFT.  It is one of the best tools I know to reduce stress, eliminate cravings, remove negative emotions, reduce pain and so much more.  I often say EFT saved my life.

EFT Tapping is already proving to be the next big frontier of not only personal change and growth but also medicine.

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques.  It  combines ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology.

Tapping is a stress reducing technique where we use tapping on the Chinese meridian points or acupuncture points to clear energy blocks.  Instead of needles on these acupuncture points we do a gentle tapping motion while we are focused on some energetic block that might be in our way. This process allows us to easily let go of that negative thought and bring in something more empowering.

With tapping you are literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power.  Tapping is a well researched, proven technique you can easily learn and use at home to create more peace and joy in your life.

Tapping on the various acupressure points moves your body from stress mode to relaxation mode.  In a more relaxed state, the parasympathetic nervous system kicks in.  Your heart rate decreases, digestion increases and levels of serotonin and other calming brain chemicals increase.  In addition the levels of DHEA increase which essentially puts your body in rebuilding and repair mode instead of break down mode. It activates our body’s natural self repair mechanism.

Because of its very high rate of success, the use of EFT is spreading rapidly among psychologists, medical practitioners and coaches.

Here is a video explaining EFT’s power from EFT founder Gary Craig

Tapping at home alone or working with a practitioner, one who is professionally trained in EFT can help you reduce stress, overcome cravings, shift negative feelings about your body and achieve greater health and balance in mind, body, and spirit.

Quick Stress Relief Technique

Try this quick tapping process so you can experience how it works. By doing this tapping you will feel more relaxed.  Tapping on the points alone will turn down the fight or flight response.  This is very general but will bring you some relief.

Above is a picture of the tapping points.

Start by taking 3 deep breaths

Notice in your body how stressed you feel.  Give it a number from 1-10 with 1 being hardly stressed at all and 10 being so stressed you feel like screaming.

Tap with 2 or 3 fingers on each point while saying these sentences out loud.

Begin tapping on the karate chop point

Even though I feel so stressed I deeply and completely accept myself
Even though I feel stressed and worried I accept myself and all of my feelings
Even though I feel stressed and worried  I deeply and completely accept myself

Tapping Through The Points say the words and stay with your feelings of stress while tapping on each point. (don’t say the name of the point).

Eyebrow I feel overwhelmed by my thoughts
Side of Eye  There is so much going on
Under the Eye I feel so stressed
Under the Nose  I have so many things to worry about
Chin I feel this stress in my body
Collarbone I have so many things to think about
Under arm  My mind is racing and I can’t relax
Top of head I feel overwhelmed and stressed

Eyebrow I choose to be centered and calm.
Side of Eye I feel the strength inside of me
Under the Eye I feel centered and calm
Under the Nose I give myself permission to relax.

Collarbone It’s safe for me to let go of my stress
Under arm   Letting  any stress go.
Top of head Letting go of the stress from every cell of my body

Eyebrow As I relax I set my worries free.
Side of Eye And as I let my worries go
Under the Eye My mind feels free.
Under the Nose  I am beginning to relax

Collarbone And my muscles begin to relax
Under arm  There is nothing that I need to do in this moment.
Top of head I can relax now. All is well

DEEP BREATH

Check in now with your body. What number is your stress level now. Even when you shift a few points from say a 10 to an 8 it has an exponential impact in your energy and your body’s ability to renew and restore itself.

Give this script a try and post below how it went for you I would love to hear!
