When we feel beautiful our behavior changes. By changing our beliefs we automatically show up differently. Feeling beautiful inspires us to eat the foods that enhance our beauty. Also when we eat the foods that support our beauty we look more beautiful which supports the new belief. The body, mind and spirit work together.  The beliefs and behaviors reinforce one another.
We are aiming for beauty from the inside out. Minerals, enzymes, healthy fats are key elements that contribute to a beautiful body.
These are my top beauty foods that will help you look more beautiful. These foods will nourish and detox your skin, blood and cells so your body can function at its best.
To get the best results incorporate these foods into your diet 3 times a week.  You will begin to see brighter glowing skin and changes in your hair and body.

One of the keys is to reduce the foods that are hard for your system to process and cause inflammation:
  • Processed foods
  • Refined Sugars
  • Gluten
  • Dairy
  • Artificial Foods and Sweeteners
Eat whole foods from the earth.

Here are  my favorite foods for addressing anything from wrinkles and hair loss:

avocado

Avocados

Avocados are the ultimate beauty food, they help reduce the appearance of aging in the skin. The monounsaturated fatty acids are key for silky hair, smooth skin and strong nails. These creamy treats also help lower bad cholesterol.

Half an avocado has more potassium than a banana. Potassium is the mineral that helps balance pH levels, maintains proper fluid levels and balances other minerals like sodium. Potassium prevents you from looking puffy.

Try adding avocados into a smoothie like the Alkalizing Green Smoothie or make a dessert with it like the Raw Chocolate Mousse

flax seed

Flax Seeds

Flaxseeds provide a huge boost of omega-3 fatty acids, which helps maintain a healthy rate of skin cell renewal. The oils in flax seeds are anti-inflammatory preventing skin rashes or acne.. To ensure your body absorbs all these beauty-boosting benefits, the flax seed must be ground, It is best to grind them fresh daily in a spice grinder.

Flax seeds are high in fiber which is key in preventing and reducing cellulite. Fiber helps move and clear out toxins that are released from fat cells, so that they don’t re-circulate around the body and turn into cellulite. Try these Cranberry Coconut Energy Bars.

bone broth

Bone Broth

Bone Broth is packed with anti-aging nutrients. The first is collagen, a protein which builds strong skin from inside your cells, protecting it against wrinkling. The gelatin derived from collagen heals the digestive tract, helping to prevent inflammation that leads to aging.

Bone broth is full of glycine which helps your liver get the toxins you are bombarded with all day long out of your body.

Bone Broth is full minerals, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium in a chemical composition that makes them highly bioavailable. These minerals contribute to beautiful skin, nails and hair.

The glucosamine, chondroitin and hyaluronic acid helps keep your joints young and flexible allowing you to move gracefully, looking beautiful.

Recipe for Bone Broth use in soups, for cooking grains and in sauces.

greens

Green Vegetables

Greens are an absolute must all the time. In addition to the fiber they provide which removes toxins from our digestive tract, they contain CALCIUM which keeps our bones strong, maintains healthy teeth, keeps our posture upright, and it enables us to move with poise.

They contain SILICON which has incredible beautifying properties. It can soften wrinkles and increase the resilience of your skin by targeting the connective tissue in your body. It makes our hair thick, our nails strong as it strengthens connective tissues. Silicon is also found in bell peppers and apples too.

I like to pair greens with foods that contain magnesium, like pumpkin seeds, or hemp seeds, because in order to fully utilize the calcium in greens, your body needs a little help from magnesium.

red-cabbage-772

Cabbage

Cabbage supports the adrenal glands which are responsible for making cortisol. Cortisol can cause the skin to break down faster and wrinkles to appear. Cabbage is anti inflammatory and high in Vitamin A, C and E which can help lower cortisol levels.

Purple cabbage is best because it has 6 – 8 times more Vitamin C than the green variety. We always want to eat a rainbow of vegetables as each color has unique vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants. There are not that many foods in the blue/ purple category, but purple cabbage is one of them. Purple foods contain anthocyanins, which are health-promoting chemicals that help protect cells and heal your body. Research shows anthocyanins help make our eyes bright and clear.

Beauty is found when you believe you are beautiful. When you eat foods that nourish your cells and support your detoxification you give your body what it needs to look beautiful. Add these foods into your diet at least 3 times a week. You will notice a change in your strength, your skin and your hair.
